Contest Guidelines:
InnermoonLit Award for Young Fiction Writers


  • All stories must be original and previously unpublished.

  • Authors must be 17 years of age or younger. In order to verify age, submissions must be emailed by a
    sponsoring teacher.

  • Teachers should submit on their students' behalf, via email, no later than February 1, 2007, 11:59 p.m. EST.
    We will need the name of the teacher and school, but in the interest of fairness, the students' names should
    not be given.

  • Entrants must specify that they are entering the Young Fiction Writer Contest and must indicate the number
    of words in their story (500 words maximum).

  • No entry fee.

  • Winning entries will not be published. Writers retain all rights to their submissions.

  • Winners will be announced online and via an emailed newsletter. A brief review of the winning stories will be
    posted on the web along with the winners' names, bios, and photos (with the winners' permission).

  • Winners will be notified via email no later than May 1, 2007.

  • All sponsoring teachers will receive notification of contest results via an emailed newsletter.

  • Cash prizes will be paid in U.S. currency.

  • Winners are asked to refrain from submitting to any of my contests for two calendar years.

  • Submissions will be judged anonymously. Judges' decisions are final.
